Site operation
The site provides static informational pages. The site code does not include advertising pixels, analytics libraries, remote fonts or third-party embedded media. Page requests necessarily share connection information with the hosting service, such as an IP address, requested resource, browser information and request time. Hosting infrastructure may keep operational or security logs; this notice does not promise that server-side logging is absent.
The drafting tool
Information typed into the setup note tool is processed in your browser. The tool does not submit it to us, place it in a URL, or deliberately store it in cookies or localStorage. Your browser may retain form values through its own autofill or session-restoration features.
Choosing “Copy text” writes your draft to your device’s clipboard. Clipboard history or other applications may retain it according to your device settings. Choosing “Download .txt” creates a local file. You control where that file is kept and when it is removed. A shared device may expose copied or downloaded material to other users.
Email correspondence
If you send an email, we receive the content you choose to send, your email address and ordinary message metadata. This information is used to read and respond to questions, investigate corrections and protect correspondence from misuse. It is not necessary to email sensitive personal information to use the guides.
Website hosting and email providers may process information to deliver their services. We do not sell the personal information you send us or use it for targeted advertising. Correspondence is kept only as needed to address the inquiry, maintain a necessary correction record or meet applicable obligations. Retention can vary with the nature of the message; this site does not promise a fixed deletion interval.
Storage and preferences
The supplied site scripts do not set cookies or store contact drafts in browser storage. Browser caching, downloads and any separately provided site preference controls are distinct from message submission. See the local storage and cookies page for the scope of this site’s own code.
External links
Links to standards bodies, software documentation and other websites take you to independent services. Those services apply their own privacy practices. The site does not load their pages or media merely because a link appears in a guide.
Your choices and requests
You may read the guides without providing a name or email address. Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction or other handling of personal information held about you. Contact [email protected] with enough context to locate the correspondence. We may need to confirm that a request concerns your information.
No online service can guarantee absolute security. Do not send passwords, private footage, financial details or information that is unnecessary for your question. Where relevant, you may also contact your local data protection authority.
Changes
This notice may be updated if the site’s information practices change. Material changes should be reflected on this page. Questions about this notice can be sent to the contact address above.
